GENOCIDE IN GAZA: OPEN YOUR EYES
This new series of mixed-media artwork features collages of recent newspaper articles and photos about the ongoing genocide in Gaza that I have covered with layers of melted beeswax, resin, and acrylic paint.
Armed with bombs and missiles paid for by U.S. taxpayers, the Israeli military has killed more than 50,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, by relentlessly attacking schools, hospitals, homes, and refugee centers and blocking desperately needed humanitarian aid.
Israel’s far-right government is now violating a ceasefire and killing more innocent civilians in Gaza, as well as expanding their apartheid campaign in the West Bank.
Art has been a tool of protest for centuries, and I’m raising my voice in solidarity with the Palestinian people with an urgent plea that we act now to end this senseless bloodshed and the decades of racism and militarism that have enabled it.
